Facials Q & A

What is a facial?

Your skin endures multiple rigors every day. From cold, drying wind to hot, searing sunshine, your skin faces it all. And although you might practice excellent skin care at home, most people don't have extensive training in dermatological treatments.

Wellness Medical Center and Spa offers a range of relaxing facials, including HydraFacials and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) facials — professional face treatments that cleanse, exfoliate, tone, moisturize, and enrich your skin using products tailored to your skin type to promote a clear, healthy, glowing complexion.

What are the benefits of a facial?

The combination of nourishing, restorative products applied with a gentle but firm touch enhances your skin's look and feel. And the benefits of a facial continue long after the treatment has finished. They can:

  • Prevent aging
  • Cleanse and tighten skin
  • Promote circulation
  • Treat acne
  • Open and cleanse pores
  • Promote an even skin tone
  • Detoxify
  • Rejuvenate
  • Exfoliate
  • Reduce eye bags and dark circles
  • Promote glowing skin
  • Eliminate whiteheads and blackheads

Whatever your skin concerns, the team at Wellness Medical Center and Spa have the custom facial to leave you with beautiful-looking skin.

What is a HydraFacial?

The HydraFacial involves a three-step process.

Step 1

Your provider breaks up the topmost layer of dead skin cells using a high-pressured blast of water.

Step 2

Next, they use the HydraFacial device to suction away the skin debris before applying a salicylic and glycolic chemical peel solution for further exfoliation.

Step 3

Finally, they bathe your skin in a custom cocktail of serums, peptides, and antioxidants to plump and hydrate the skin.

If a traditional microdermabrasion treatment irritates your skin, try HydraFacial. Enjoy the pore-cleansing results of microdermabrasion with additional hydration.

What is a PRP facial?

A PRP (platelet-rich plasma) facial, also known in celebrity circles as a “vampire facial,” uses your own blood components to stimulate collagen production. Your provider simply draws a sample of your blood and then uses a centrifuge to spin the tube containing your blood so fast that the red blood cells and platelet-rich plasma separate.

They take the platelet-rich plasma and apply it to your face, pushing it into the skin using a microneedling tool. The results are rejuvenated skin and a smoother, tighter appearance. The more PRP facials you have, the longer your results from each treatment last.
